Hi Adam's Dad! I've really enjoyed your posts thus far. I'm sure we will all benefit from your wisdom. I agree with you on the importance of keeping yourself in check when it comes to placing blame on others or the world. It seems like the victim mentality just keeps people prisoners of their own life. Interestingly, I just read an article on key traits of miraculous survivors and it said this:

"Most of these survivors share the same traits, Gonzales says.

"These are people who tend to have a view of the world that does not paint them as a victim," he says. "They're not whiners who are always complaining about the bad things that are happening to them and expecting to get rescued."

I think this is also relevant to "surviving" divorce. Thanks again for the reminder, Adam's Dad!

In good health,
Dr. M

BTW, here is the full article if anyone wants to read it <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/09/08/survive/index.html" title="Miraculous survivors" rel="nofollow">CNN Article - Click Here</a>

Amen to that Mr. W.

I should probably have a Phd. in life right now, based on all the mistakes I've made... but exactly as you pointed out... it took me many many moons to realize a simple but profound truth. My whole life... whenever there were real difficulties, the ONLY constant, is that I WAS THERE.

I've still got a shovel, and have quite a lot of work to do... guess I'm a late bloomer. Better late than never I guess.

It's very cool to get the feedback of your life experience here... as well as Adam's. You "W" guys are a class act. (Are we using last names around here?)

Warm regards,

Dave

Adam's Dad, I was right. You are wise. Thank you for that post. I've never been afraid to make a mistake or own up to it. We are all only human, although a long ago employer told me he hated that as an excuse. No excuse, just fact. I can learn a lot from you and hope you will continue to post. We can all learn from each other; in fact, I learned something from Adam the other day. Funny how someone else's perspective can make you see something entirely different. Adam will always have my support.
